Product Description
This wonderfully decorated Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Chalet Style has an eight-day movement and plays music on the full hour while the wooden cuckoo calls every half and full hour. It has two great tunes that will play alternatingly, “Edelweiss” and “Der fröhliche Wanderer” (The cheerful wanderer). There is an automatic night shutoff to silence the cuckoo during the night. All features are hand-carved and hand-painted, of course. If you have a bit more wall space, this might be the best cuckoo clock for you, measuring 15 x 15,3 x 10,6 inches (38 × 39 × 27cm).
The scene on this Black Forest cuckoo clock takes you to a Black Forest farm in great detail. There is your typical mountain farmhouse with handmade wooden shingles on the roof. On the left, there is the farmer’s wife in her traditional Black Forest dress and the iconic “Bollenhut” hat coming back from the market with her basket full of purchases. The men are sawing wood in front of the house for the winter while up on the balcony there are dancing couples in their traditional costumes. Every hour when the music plays, the couples start dancing, the mill wheel next to the house turns and the 2 sawyers in front of the house move.
