Product Description
This lavishly decorated Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Chalet Style has an eight-day movement and plays music on the full hour while the wooden cuckoo calls every half and full hour. It has two great tunes that will play alternatingly: “Edelweiss” and “Der Fröhliche Wanderer” (The Cheerful Wanderer). There is a manual night shutoff to silence the cuckoo during the night. All features are hand-carved and hand-painted, of course. It is the best cuckoo clock for you if you have a bit more wall space: it measures 10,6 x 15,3 x 15,7 inches (27 x 39 x 40 cm).
Cuckoo Clock Chalet Style Scene
The scene on this Black Forest cuckoo clock is incredibly rich in detail. There is your traditional mountain farmhouse with the typical flower boxes in front of the windows and handmade wooden shingles on the roof. In an open space above the dial there is a group of dancing couples in their colorful traditional costumes who start dancing every time the music plays. During the music the mill wheel turns, and the farmer is chopping wood. In front of the house a visitor enters the scene: the clock peddler. Until the early 20th century, these peddlers were a common sight in the Black Forest carrying their stock with them and selling handmade cuckoo clocks all over and outside the Black Forest. This is the best cuckoo clock for those who truly love the Black Forest.
